You require 20 minutes of direct uv rays over 20% of your body,
three times a week in order for your body to produce Vitamin D....That's mighty hard to accomplish during winter
in Wisconsin...
You Need Vitamin D ... We've got it !!!
CONGRATULATIONS to Dr. Michael Holick who recently received the
LINUS PAULING PRIZE for
HEALTH RESEARCH.
Dr. Holick is recognized as a world renowned nutritional biochemist/physician; and the
world authority on photobiology of vitamin D through synthesis in the skin. His research has demonstrated how vitamin D deficiency
increases the risk of cancer, autoimmune diseases, infectious and cardiovascular disease, and preeclampsia in pregnancy. His
work has led to the vitamin D fortification of many foods.

There is NO better way to make vitamin D than
the efficient and natural way...from UV exposure to the skin. Without UV exposure, a supplement of 5,000 units daily is necessary...that
is 50 glasses of milk or 10 tablets of a multivitamin...Neither is advisable.
Vitamin D deficiency
is epidemic in adults of all ages ...
60% of people with Type
2 Diabetes have vitamin D deficiency...
85% of the American public may be deficient...
95% of U.S. seniors may be
deficient...
Vitamin D is essential to maintaining healthy bones, oral health
and can help prevent other health problems. Although sunshine is the best natural source of vitamin D without using
oral supplements, indoor tanning offers a controlled environment vs. outdoor tanning. Indoor tanning gives you
timed control, protective eyewear, temperature control and limited UVB exposure.
Remember ... Protect your eyes for both indoor and outdoor tanning. Just
closing them is NOT enough...neither is covering your eyes with a towel. Good rule of thumb: if water can penetrate, so can
UV rays. UV rays may lead to cataracts which can cause temporary or even permanent blindness. NOT WORTH IT !!!
Take protective measures for your body art. Once a tattoo has healed completely,
it will continue to lose brilliancy whether tanning indoors or outdoors. Cover the entire area with a tissue or SPF 15 or
higher...or use specially formulated tattoo balm stick.
About lotions and moisturizers ...
Using a moisturizer or tan extender lotion that contains aintioxidants will help with the melanin oxidation
which is what causes your skin to darken. Also, these antioxidant lotions help maintain the skin elasticity and a more youthful
appearance.
Tanning with a professional tanning lotion can increase your tan
up to 40% AND helps to keep your skin hydrated so you maintain your color longer!! This ultimately
lets you save money by achieving more color per session...thus tanning less often!! HINT: It is recommended that you
wait 1 to 4 hours after tanning to shower, if possible.
